2. Make sure the liftgate is properly secured: Ensure that the liftgate is attached safely to the lifting device.
If using a forklift to hoist the liftgate, use 4”x 4” x 24” wood spacers to keep the unit from sliding back
when lifting, Fig. 6. This will help force the top of the liftgate tight against the body for welding.

3. Remove Shipping Stand: Hoist the liftgate approximately 8” off the ground and remove the two (2) bolts
located on the outside of the shipping stand for the street and curb side columns. After removing the
shipping stands, install two (2), ½-20x1” bolts on each column, torque bolts to 94 ft/lbs.
