4.6.1 [Start Shading] button
Use this button to read the special shading paper, and start the shading adjustment.
• If the density of the scanned images is uneven, differences in the density appear in the form of
perpendicular stripes, or if the image quality shows deterioration of any other kind even when the scanner
has been cleaned. The quality of the images may be improved by re-creating the shading adjustment data.
Operating procedure
1. Open the door of the scanner and clean the conveyor, rollers, and the surfaces of image sensor and
reference plate (front and back), and select [OK] on the message box.
• The image quality is reduced unless the dirt is removed.
2. Reverse or switch the reference plates inside the scanner to white for both the front and back plates, and
select [OK] on the message box.
(For KV-S7065C, KV-S4085CW, KV-S4085CL, KV-S4065CW, KV-S4065CL, KV-S3065CW, and
KV-S3065CL only)
• This message will not appear if the reference plates are already set to White.
