Using the [Motion Picture] menu

You can select the recording mode and picture quality and other settings.

In Creative Video Mode, the settable [Rec] menu will be displayed in the [Motion
Picture] menu.
●
The [Motion Picture] menu is not displayed in the following cases.
• [3D Photo Mode] ([Scene Mode])
• [Panorama Shot] Mode
• [Soft Focus]/[Star Filter] ([Creative Control] Mode)

[Rec Format]
Sets the data format of the motion picture that is recorded.

Settings
[AVCHD]
Select this format to record HD (high definition) motion pictures for playback on your
HDTV using an HDMI connection.
[MP4]
This data format is suited for playing back motion pictures on a computer and other
such devices.
