USING THE MICROWAVE FUNCTION
General preparation guidelines for the microwave function
Dishes suitable for preparation in the microwave
Various kinds of dishes can be prepared in the microwave, such as fresh or frozen vegetables,
fruit, pasta, rice, grains, beans, fish and meat. You can also prepare sauce, custard, soup,
steamed pudding, fruit preserves and chutney in a microwave.
Cover during preparation
Dishes should be covered for the preparation, because the water evaporates and the steam
contributes to the preparation process. There are various ways to cover dishes, for example
with a ceramic plate, a plastic lid or microwave-proof cling film.
Standing times
It is important after preparation that the dish is allowed to stand the recommended time so
that the temperature can spread evenly in the dish.
General preparation guidelines for frozen vegetables
Use a suitable glass Pyrex dish with lid. Keep it covered during the minimum time (see the
table).
Continue the preparation for the desired result. Stir two times during preparation and one
more time after preparation. After preparation, add salt, herbs or butter. Keep the dish covered
during the standing time.
