D. Locating Your Appliance & Chimney
Location of the appliance and chimney will affect performance.
• Install through the warm airspace enclosed by the building
envelope. This helps to produce more draft, especially
during lighting and die-down of the fi re.
• Penetrate the highest part of the roof. This minimizes the
affects of wind loading.
• Locate termination cap away from trees, adjacent
structures, uneven roof lines and other obstructions.
• Minimize the use of chimney offsets.
• Consider the appliance location relative to fl oor and ceiling
and attic joists.
• Take into consideration the termination requirements.
E. Inspect Appliance & Components
• Remove appliance and components from packaging
and inspect for damage.
• Report to your dealer any parts damaged in shipment.
• Read all the instructions before starting the installa-
tion. Follow these instructions carefully during the
installation to ensure maximum safety and benefi t.
