1204F - DEF System Supplement
As shown in Fig 4.1 the components required to meet the Tier 4 Final / Stage IV Emissions Legislation
consists of:
Aftertreatment
• DOC and CDPF Canister or DOC only (rating dependant)
• Flexpipe
• Nox sensor
• Mixer
• SCR canister
All the components within this system must be supplied by Perkins.
DEF system
• DEF tank
• DEF tank header
• DEF pump
• DEF Control Unit (DCU)
• DEF Lines
• Heated suction line
• Heated return line
• Heated pressure line
• DEF injector (supplied fitted in AT mixer tube)
• Coolant valve
• Coolant lines to DEF tank
The DEF pump and control unit assembly, DEF injector, DEF tank header and coolant valve must be
supplied by Perkins as these are emissions critical components. The coolant lines are customer
supplied.
A more detailed description of the DEF system components and their operation are all discussed
individually in section 4.2 below.
