4.2.6 DEF Lines
The following 3 DEF lines are required:
• Suction line – Tank to pump
• Pressure Line - supply from pump to DEF injector
• Return line – return from injector back to tank
The DEF lines are electrically heated lines available in either 12 or 24V. They are supplied with the
appropriate quick fit connectors and available in various lengths.
The lines are heated by embedded heater wires to prevent solids from forming in the DEF solution in
colder temperatures below –11°C; the point at which DEF freezes. They have been designed,
optimised and validated to be used with system provided taking into consideration both the flow
requirement and current draw.
Correct operation of these lines is required to ensure adherence to emissions requirements. These
parts should, therefore, be selected from the Perkins product offering.
