4.2.5 DEF Pump
The DCU is supplied as part of the DEF pump assembly and transfers DEF from tank to DEF injector
and back to tank.
Figure 4.5 below shows the different constituent parts within the PEU.

4.2.5 DEF Control Unit (DCU)
The DCU is supplied as part of the DEF pump assembly. The DEF control unit takes inputs from
various sensors within the system to:
• Accurately control the delivery of DEF to the DEF injector.
• Control the coolant diverter valve to maintain the DEF tank temperature and control the
freeze thaw cycle
• Provide an input into the engine inducement strategy
