5.2 DIAGNOSIS FLOWCHART OF FAILURE ANALYSIS
Note:
MR and Display in this chapter denote the following:
MR: Media Receiver (KRP-M01)
Display: PLASMA DISPLAY (KRP-600P, KRP-500P)
Flowchart of Failure Analysis for The Whole Unit
START
No LED lit. To “Standby-Related Problems”
According to the statuses of the LEDs,
go to the corresponding flowchart.
Ye s
The red LED remains lit. To “Power-On-Related Problems”
Turn the units on.
Either the red or blue LED
flashes.
To “PD/SD-Related Problems”
The red and blue LEDs
alternately flash.
To “System-Connection-Related
Problems”
The LEDs on the Display do
not light.
Is STB 3.4 V ON?
(Check Pin 2 of CN7001.)
Check that the cable is firmly connected between the
Display POWER SUPPLY Unit and Display MAIN Assy.
[SM for the Display]
Failure analysis of the Display POWER SUPPLY Unit => PP1
No
Ye s
Are AC_DET and MSW_DET of the
Display POWER SUPPLY Unit high?
[SM for the Display]
Failure analysis of the Display MAIN Assy => PM1
Replace the Display POWER SUPPLY Unit.
No
The blue LED is lit.
(failure in video or audio)
To “Video-Display-Related Problems”
or “Audio-Related Problems”
Standby-Related Problems
Note: Check that the main power switch is set to ON, that the system cable is connected,
and that the AC power cords of the Media Receiver and display are both plugged in.
• You can check ON/STB and PD/SD statuses of the display with the green
and red LEDs on the DIGITAL Assy. If neither the green nor red LED is lit,
it is likely that STB power is not supplied.
(Failure in the POWER SUPPLY Unit or the unit is PASV-STB state.)
The LED does not light if AC_DET and MSW_DET are low.
Ye s
The LED on the MR does
not light.
Is STB 3.4 V ON? (Check the IF micro-
computer power on the MR MAIN
BLOCK Assy.)
Check that the cable is firmly connected between the
MR POWER SUPPLY Unit and MR MAIN BLOCK Assy.
[SM for the MR]
Failure analysis of the MR POWER SUPPLY Unit => PS1
No
Ye s
Is AC_DET of the MR POWER SUPPLY
Unit high?
[SM for the MR]
Failure analysis of the MR MAIN BLOCK Assy => MA1
Replace the MR POWER SUPPLY Unit.
No
The LED does not light if AC_DET is low.
