Introduction
• Most of the functions covered in this
chapter apply to DVD discs, Video CDs and
CDs, although the exact operation of
some varies slightly with the kind of disc
loaded.
• When playing DVD discs, if the or
icon appears on-screen when you try and
use a particular function, either the
player or the disc doesn’t allow the use of
that function.
• When playing Video CDs, some of the
functions are not available in PBC mode.
If you want to use them, first switch off
PBC (press PBC (SHIFT & 10/0)).
Finding what you
want on a disc
You can directly access any point on a disc
using one of the search modes. Use these
search modes while a disc is playing, or when
it’s stopped—playback immediately starts
from the point specified.
1 Press SEARCH (SHIFT & 3) to
choose between:
• Title search (DVD only)
• Chapter/Track search
• Time search (DVD and Video CD
only)
• Off
2 Enter the title/chapter/track
number or time (minutes &
seconds).
For example, for title 4, press 4.
For chapter/track 12, press 1 , 2.
For 45 minutes into the disc,
press 4 , 5 , 0 , 0.
3 Press 2 6 to start/restart
playback.

Introduction
• La plupart des fonctions décrites dans ce
chapitre font référence aux disques DVD,
aux CD vidéo et CD, bien que l’opération
puisse varier en fonction du type de
disque chargé.
• A la lecture de disques DVD, si l’icône
ou apparaît à l’écran quand vous
essayez d’utiliser une fonction
particulière, le lecteur ou le disque ne
permet pas l’utilisation de cette fonction.
• À la lecture de CD vidéo, certaines
fonctions ne sont pas valables dans le
mode PBC. Si vous souhaitez les utiliser,
désactivez d’abord PBC (appuyez sur
PBC (SHIFT et 10/0)).
Comment trouver ce
que vous cherchez
sur un disque
Vous pouvez accéder directement à n’importe
quel emplacement du disque en utilisant l’un
des modes de recherche. Utilisez ces modes de
recherche pendant la lecture d’un disque, ou
pendant son arrêt—la lecture démarre
immédiatement à partir de l’emplacement
spécifié.
1 Appuyez sur SEARCH (SHIFT & 3)
pour choisir entre:
• Title search (recherche de
titre) (DVD seulement)
• Chapter/Track search
(recherche de chapitre/piste)
• Time search (recherche de
temps) (DVD et CD vidéo seulement)
• Off
2 Entrez le numéro de titre/
chapitre/piste ou le temps
(minutes et secondes).
