Navigation
is accomptiShed using the WGS-84 (NAD-83) coordinate refamnce datum. GPS
navigation data iS baSed upon use of only the Global Positioning System (GPS) operated by the
United States Of America.
Class II Oceanic, Remote, and other Operations:
The Garmin SO<MI Series, as Installed, has been found to comply with the requirements for GPS
i:irimary means of Class II navigation in oceanic:: and remote airspace, when used in conjunction
with
Garmin PredietiOn Program part number 006-A0154-03. Oceanic operotions are supported
when the
.50CJW Sanes unit ann~ OCN. Thi!; provides an alarm limit of four nml and a
mask angle of five degrees. The 500\N series unit also has the ablllty to predict RAIM availability
at any waYJ)(l;nt in the database tr WAAS c:orredions ant 111,cpected to be abtent or disabll'ld. This
does not constitute an operationar approval for Oceanic: or Remote area operations. AdditiOnal
equiJ)ment Installations or Operational approva1' may be required.
a) Oceanic navigation requires an addltlonal approved Jong rang111 oceanic and/or remote area
navigation system with indes:,endent display. sencorc, antenna, and power source. (It may be
