3. The hand held heart rate wiring is inside of the handlebar and care must be taken to not
damage the wiring when the handlebar is removed. Carefully, slide the upper end of the
handlebar out of the handlebar clamp. Disconnect the hand held heart rate wiring at the
connector at the upper end of the handlebar.
4. Remove the two screws that fasten the hand held heart rate grips to the handlebar.
Disconnect the wiring from the hand held heart rate grips and set the grips aside.
5. Remove the wiring from the handlebar and set the wiring aside. Note the position of the O-
ring and roll the O-ring off of the handlebar. Discard the handlebar.
6. Roll the O-ring, removed in step 5, onto the replacement handlebar and position it as noted
in step 5.
7. Feed the hand held heart rate wiring removed in step 4 into the re la cement handlebar with
the connector at the upper end of the handlebar.
8. Connect the red wire from step 7 to the upper hand held heart rate grip and the black wire to
the lower hand held heart rate grip. Set both grips in their mounting position and fasten them
with the screws removed in step 4.
9. Hold the handlebar near its mounting position and reconnect the hand held heart rate
connectors that were disconnected in step 3.
10. Slide the upper end of the handlebar into the handlebar clamp. Set the lower end of then
handlebar at its mounting position and hand start the special handlebar attachment bolt.
Ensure that the upper end of the handlebar is fully into the handlebar clamp. Replace the
screw removed in step 1 and securely tighten them. Securely tighten the special handlebar
attachment bolt.
11. If required, repeat this procedure with the remaining handlebar.
