      If your ProForm Treadmill turns off during use, first check the power switch. If it has tripped, wait five minutes, then press it back in. Also, ensure the power cord is securely plugged in. If it is, unplug it, wait five minutes, and then plug it back in.

      If the displays on your ProForm Treadmill console aren't working right, remove the key and unplug the power cord. After plugging the cord back in, make sure the key is inserted into the console. Also, check the power switch on the treadmill frame near the power cord. If it's protruding, wait five minutes, then press it back in to reset it.

      First, ensure that the power cord of your ProForm Treadmill is plugged into a surge suppressor, and that the surge suppressor is plugged into a properly grounded outlet. Next, remove the key from the console and then reinsert it. If the treadmill still won't run, please see the front cover of this manual.

    Why does the ProForm PRO 4500 Treadmill walking belt slow down when I walk on it?

      If the walking belt on your ProForm Treadmill slows down when you walk on it, it might be overtightened, which can decrease performance and damage the belt. Remove the key and unplug the power cord. Use the hex key to turn both idler roller screws counterclockwise, 1/4 of a turn. When the walking belt is properly tightened, you should be able to lift each edge of the walking belt 2 to 3 inches off the walking platform.
