Chapter 1
About This Guide
Introduction
This guide describes Performance Technologies, Inc. MPS1000 Multi-Protocol Servers. This
manual covers the 4-port, 8-port, and 16-port versions. A brief description of what you’ll find in
this guide is listed below:
Chapter 2, “Introduction,” on page 17 provides an MPS1000 product overview.
Chapter 3, “Technical Information,” on page 23 contains photographs of the MPS1000, product
specifications, and electrical and environmental considerations for the system.
Chapter 4, “Chassis Installation,” on page 33 contains information on power requirements, ESD
concerns and installing the MPS1000 chassis in 19 inch racks.
Chapter 5, “On-Site Replacements and Upgrading,” on page 37 contains information on
installing CPC358s and RTM358s into the MPS1000 chassis in the event replacement or
upgrading is needed.
Chapter 6, “Configuration Settings,” on page 43 provides jumper and switch locations and
setting information for configuring the 4-port, 8-port, or 16-port MPS1000.
An “Index,” on page 47 is also provided.
