9 Faults and possible causes
Troubleshooting requirements
Switch off the PTO and the tractor engine and lock them to prevent unauthori-
sed starting.
Put down the machine on the ground.
n WARNUNG
Risk of injury when rectifying faults inappropriately
Delayed or incorrect repairs by unqualified personnel may result in
severe personal injury as well as in damages to the machine and
the environment.
Any faults occurring must be repaired immediately.
Only carry out repairs yourself if you have the appropriate
qualifications.

Please take particular note of the warnings in chapters 3: Safety, page 5
and 10:
Maintenance and service, page 107 before correcting any faults.

Uneven fertiliser distribution
Clumps of fertiliser on
spreading discs, spreading
vanes and outlet ducts.
Remove the clumps of fer-
tiliser.
Metering slides do not
open completely.
Check the function of
opening slides.
Drop point incorrectly ad-
justed.
Correct the drop point ad-
justment.
Too much fertiliser in the trac-
tor track
Defective spreading vanes,
outlets.
Replace defective parts im-
mediately.
The fertiliser has a smoo-
ther surface than the fertili-
ser that was tested for the
fertiliser chart.
Select later drop point set-
ting (e.g. from 4 to 5).
PTO speed too low. Correct RPM.
Too much fertiliser in the over-
lap area
The fertiliser has a rougher
surface than the fertiliser
that was tested for the ferti-
liser chart.
Select earlier drop point
setting (e.g. from 5 to 4).
PTO speed too high. Correct RPM.
