Ifyouloseapersonorobjectoverboard,youcan
usetheManOverboard(MOB)functiontomark
thepositionthatthevesselwasatwhentheMOB
functionwasactivated.
TheMOBfunctionisavailableatalltimes,regardless
ofwhichapplicationisrunning.MOBcanbesetto
DeadReckoningorPositionmode.DeadReckoning
modewilltakeintoconsiderationtheeffectsofwind
andtides.Thisusuallyprovidesamoreaccurate
course.Positionmodedoesnottakethesefactors
intoaccount.
ToobtainaMOBposition,yourmultifunctiondisplay
musthaveaGPSpositionx.Ifyou'reusingdead
reckoning,headingandspeeddatamustalsobe
available.
WhenMOBisactivated:
•AnaudibleMOBalarmissoundedevery30
secondsuntiltheMOBiscancelled.
•AnMOBalarmdialogisdisplayeduntilitis
acknowledged.
•ThesystemsendsMOBalarmstootherRaymarine
equipment.
•TheactiveChartapplicationischangedtoa
low-detail2Dview,withaninitialrangeof15m
(50ft).MotionmodeissettoAutoRange.As
thevesselmovesawayfromtheMOBpositiona
dottedlineisdisplayed,joiningtheMOBposition
withthevessel'sposition.
•Theactiveradarapplicationrangeischangedto
230m(760ft).
•AllGotoandFollowfunctionsaredisabledinall
applications.Navigationtoanyactivewaypoint
isstoppedandanyexistingnavigationfunctionis
cancelled.
•Ifpositionorheadingandspeedinformationis
availableaMOBwaypointisplacedatthecurrent
vesselpositioninanyapplicationthatiscapableof
showingwaypointsandvesselposition.
•MOBdataisdisplayedinthedatabar,replacing
theexistingdata.
•MOBdataisdisplayedonthehomescreen,
replacingthestatusicons.
WhentheMOBalarmiscancelled:
•MOBdataisremovedfromtherelevant
applications.
•Thechartapplicationmotionmodeisreset.
•Thechartiscenteredonthevesselandpitch/
rotationsettodefault.
•GOTOandroutefunctionsarerestored.
•Thedatabarmodeisreset.
•AMOBnormalmodesignalissenttoany
instrumentonSeaT alk.
