8.1i40Depthoperation
Whenconnectedtotherelevantdepthtransducer,
youri40depthinstrument:
•Providesdepthinformation,ineitherfeet(ft),
metres(M)orfathoms(FA).
•Recordstheminimumdepthencounteredduring
theperiodtheunitisswitchedon.
•Enablesyoutodenealarmthresholdsforshallow
alarm,deepalarm,shallowanchoralarmand
deepanchoralarm.
•Enablesyoutoseewhatoffsethasbeenapplied
tothedepthreading.
Note:Therequireddepthunitsareselectedduring
Usercalibration.
Itshouldbenotedthat:
•Up/Downdepth-trendarrowsaredisplayed,ifthe
seabedisrisingorfallingatasignicantrate.
•Minimumdepthreadingisresettozeroatpower
up.
8.2Calibration
Beforerstusecalibrationproceduresmustbe
carriedouttoensureoptimumperformanceofthe
instrumentwiththevessel.
