Acoatingisappliedtothedisplayscreen.This
makesitwaterrepellent,andpreventsglare.To
avoiddamagingthiscoating,followthisprocedure:
1.Switchoffthepowertothedisplay.
2.Rinsethescreenwithfreshwatertoremoveall
dirtparticlesandsaltdeposits.
3.Allowthescreentodrynaturally.
4.Ifanysmearsremain,verygentlywipethescreen
withacleanmicrobrecleaningcloth(available
fromanopticians).
Transducercareandcleaning
Growthcancollectonthebottomofthetransducer,
thiscanreduceperformance.T opreventthebuild-up
ofseagrowth,coatthetransducerwithathinlayer
ofwater-basedantifoulingpaint,availablefrom
yourlocalmarinedealer.Reapplypaintevery6
monthsoratthebeginningofeachboatingseason.
Certainsmarttransducershaverestrictionsonwhere
antifoulingpaintisapplied.Pleaseconsultyour
dealer.
Note:Transducerswithatemperaturesensormay
notworkproperlyifpainted.
Note:Neveruseketone-basedpaint.Ketones
canattackmanyplastics,possiblydamagingthe
sensor.
Note:Neverusespraypaintonyourtransducer.
Sprayingincorporatestinyairbubbles,anda
marinetransducercannottransmitproperly
throughair.
Useasoftclothandmildhouseholddetergentto
cleanthetransducer.Ifthefoulingissevere,remove
thegrowthwithatoughcleaningpad,suchasa
greenScotchBrite
TM
padforexample.Becarefulto
avoidscratchingthefaceofthetransducer.
Note:Harshcleaningsolventssuchasacetone
WILLdamagethetransducer.

Thesuppliedsuncoverfeaturesanadhesivesurface.
Incertainconditionsunwantedcontaminantsmay
sticktothissurface.T oavoiddamagingthemonitor
display,cleanthesuncoverregularlyfollowingthis
procedure:
1.Carefullyremovethesuncoverfromthedisplay.
2.Rinsethesuncoverwithfreshwatertoremove
alldirtparticlesandsaltdeposits.
3.Allowthesuncovertodrynaturally.
