Ifthedisplay’sRudderPointermovesintheopposite
direction(i.e.whenyouturntheRudderstarboard
thepointermovesport)thiscanbecorrectedby
invertingtheRudder.

Thecompassmustbeconnectedtothecompass
connectionoftheiTC-5.Compassesconnected
toanautopilotmustbecalibratedusingaPilot
Controller.
SwingingtheCompass
Youwillneedtoturnyourvesselinslowcircleswhile
thesystemautomaticallymakesadjustmentsto
accountforCompassDeviation.Each360-degree
circleshouldtakenolessthantwominutes,andyou
shouldcompleteatleasttwocircles.
Itisrecommendedthatasecondinstrumentdisplay
orMFDisusedtodisplayheadingdata,whilst
performingtheCompassSwing.

3.SelectTransducersSet-up.
4.SelectContinue.
Theinstrumentdisplaywillsearchforanddisplay
alistofconnecteddevices.(i.e.iTC-5,DSTor
transducerpod)
5.SelectiTC-5.
Alistofavailabletransducerdataisdisplayed,
6.SelectCompass.
7.SelectSwingCompass.
8.Startmovingvesselinslowevencircles,then
pressStart.
9.Keepvesselspeedtobelow2knots.Watchthe
displaytoensureyourturnrateisnottoofast.If
themessage‘SlowDown—turnratetoofast’is
displayedreduceyourrateofturn,thiscanbe
achievedbyslowingdownand/orsteeringin
awidercircle.
Ifthe'SlowDown—turnratetoofast'message
isdisplayedthecurrentcirclewillhavetobe
repeated.
WhentheCompasshasbeencalibrated,a
messagewillbedisplayedshowingthedetected
CompassDeviation.
10.Ifthedeviationisgreaterthan15degreesyouwill
needtorelocatetheCompassfurtherawayfrom
