Removingthemountingholecovers
Beforetheradiocanbepanelmountedthemounting
holecoversmustberemoved.
1.Usingaflatbladescrewdriver ,insertthetipofthe
screwdriverintheslotbetweenthebackofthe
coverandtheunit.
2.Carefullyleverthecoverforwardawayfromtheunit.
3.Repeatsteps1and2fortheremainingmounting
holecovers.
Drillingoutthemountingholes
Whenpanelmountingtheradiothemountingholes
mustbedrilledout.
Guidesforthemountingholescanbefoundonthe
cornersoftheunit,underthemountingholecovers.
1.Usingadrillanda4mm(5/32)drillbit,drilloutthe
4mountingholes.
Holesshouldbedrilledfromthefrontoftheunit,
takingcarenottoapplytoomuchforcetothedrill.

Topanelmounttheradiofollowthestepsbelow.
Beforemountingtheproduct,ensurethatyouhave:
•Selectedasuitablelocation,ensuringthereisnothing
behindthemountingsurfacethatmaybedamaged
whendrilling/cutting.
•Identifiedthecableconnectionsandroutethatthe
cableswilltake.
•Removedthemountingholecovers.
•Drilledoutthemountingholesontheunit.
1.Checktheselectedlocationfortheunit.Aclear,
flatareawithsuitableclearancebehindthepanel
isrequired.
2.Fixthesuppliedmountingtemplatetotheselected
location,usingmaskingorself-adhesivetape.
3.Usingasuitableholesaw(thesizeisindicatedon
thetemplate),makeaholeineachcornerofthe
cut-outarea.
4.Usingasuitablesaw,cutalongtheinsideedgeof
thecut-outline.
5.Ensurethattheunitfitsintotheremovedareaand
thenfilearoundtheroughedgeuntilsmooth.
6.Drill4holesasindicatedonthetemplatetoaccept
thefixings.
7.Removethebackingsfromthesuppliedgasket.
8.Placethegasketinpositiononthebackoftheunit
andpressfirmlyontotheflange.
9.Connectthepower,andothercablestotheunit.
10.Slidetheunitintoplaceandsecureusingthefixings
provided.
11.Attachthemountingholecovers.
Note:
Thesuppliedgasketprovidesasealbetweenthe
unitandasuitablyflatandstiffmountingsurfaceor
binnacle.Thegasketshouldalwaysbeused.Itmay
alsobenecessarytouseamarine-gradesealantif
themountingsurfaceorbinnacleisnotentirelyflat
andstifforhasaroughsurfacefinish.
