TheradiomustbeconnectedtoasuitableVHFantenna
(notsupplied).Theantennaconnectionmustbe
protectedsoitcannotcomeintocontactwithanybare
metal(whichmaybegrounded).Aprotectivebootis
suppliedthatcanbeusedtoensureisolationofthe
antennaconnection.
1.Disconnectyourantennacablefromtheconnector .
2.Pushtheantennacablethroughthesupplied
protectiveboot.
3.Re-connecttheantennacabletotheconnector.
4.Plugtheantennaconnectorintotheproduct’s
antennaconnectionandsecurebytighteningthe
lockingcollar.
5.Pushtheprotectivebootovertheconnection.
6.Securetheprotectivebootusingthesuppliedcable
ties.
Iftheantennaconnectorcannotberemovedthen
anothersuitablemeansofprotectionmustbeused,
suchasinsulationtape.
4.10GNSS(GPS)antenna
connection
Y oucanimprovetheperformanceofyourradio’sbuilt-in
GNSS(GPS)receiverusinganexternalantenna.
Followthestepsbelowtoconnecttheexternalantenna:
1.Removethedustcapfromtheexternalantenna
connectoronyourradio.Ensuringcorrectconnector
orientation,fullyinserttheexternalantenna
connectorintotheGA150’sconnector.
2.Tightentheantennaconnector’smetalsleeveby
rotatingtheGA150’sconnectorclockwiseuntiltight.
3.Pushtheprotectivesleeveintopositionoverboth
connectors.
4.Securetheprotectivebootusingacabletieoneach
end.
4.11Passivespeakerconnection
Apassivespeaker(A80542)canbeconnectedusingthe
RCAleadontheradiooronthehandsetadaptorcable.
