How do I skip a waypoint? (SeaTalk chartplotters)
If you w ant to advance to th e next waypoint
before
you have arrived at the
target w aypoint, you can skip a waypoi nt by pressing
track
fo r 1 s econd. T he
display will then show the Waypoint Advance screen for the next waypoint. Check
it i s sa fe to turn, then press
track
to turn the boat to wards the next waypo int.
WARNING: Ensure navigation safety
Skipping a waypoint will take you str aight to the next waypoint.
Check y our navigation before making the turn.
Always be awar e of the relative wind angle, especially when
tur ning away from the wind.
What is the Waypoint Advance alarm?
T he SmartPilot activa tes the Wa ypoint Adv ance alarm (NEXT WPT?) in T rack
mode when ever the target waypoint name changes . This occurs when:
• you select automatic acq uisition by pressi ng
track
from Au to
• you req uest waypoin t advance by pressin g
track
for 1 secon d in T rack mode
(with SeaT alk navigato rs only)
• the boat arr ives at the target and the navigator accepts the next waypoint
• you ac tivate the Man Overboard (MOB) function (see
page 28
)
When the al arm sounds , the SmartPilot con tinues on its current head ing but
displays:
• the bearin g to the next waypoint
• the directi on the boat will turn to tak e up that bearin g
How do I r espond to a Wa ypoint Advance alarm?
T o respon d to a Wayp oint Advance alarm:
• check that it is safe to turn onto the new
track
, then press track to accept the
way point advance
• alternatively, you can cancel the alarm with out accepting the w aypoint
advan ce by pressing:
•
auto
to contin ue on the same heading, or
•
standby
to return to m anual control
What happens when I get to the end of the route?
T he SmartPilot displ ays the
ROUTE COMPL ETED
warning when you have
reached th e last waypoint on a route in T rack mode.

to continue o n the same heading.
