3.2 Gener al maintenance
Routine checks
CAUTION: Do not dismantle SmartPilot products
The Sm artPilot computer and controller should be serviced only
by aut horized Raymarin e service te chnicians. These products do
not con tain any user serviceable parts.
T he SmartPilot comp uter does NOT co ntain userserviceabl e parts . If you remove
the main c over you wil l inv alidate th e warra nty. T he c ontroller is also a seal ed
unit, so user maintenance is limited to the following checks
• mak e sure all cable connect ors are firmly attached
• examine for signs of wear or damage – replace any damaged cables
Note:
Do not use chemical or abras ive materials to clean the SmartPilot compu ter. If the
case is dirty, wipe it with a clean, damp cloth.
Cleaning the display

T ake care when cle aning the display. Avoid wiping t he display
scr een with a dr y cloth as this could scratch the screen coating. If
nece ssary , use only a mild detergent.
• Never use chemical or abrasive materials to clean the controller . If it is dirty,
wipe it with a clean , damp cloth.
• In certain conditions, condensation may appear inside the display screen. This
will not harm the unit, and you can clear it by switching on the illumination for
a short tim e.

• If you have a S1G , S2G or S3G course computer with internal
GyroPl us sen sor – call a Ray marin e serv ice agent.
• If you have a NonG

yaw sensor – check the sensor and connections, then call a Ray
marine s ervice agent.
