Wheel drive
Routine maintenance
After each tri p, flush in side the drive unit by inserti ng a hose pipe in the free slot
on the back cover .
Cleaning the wheel drive
CAUTION:
Do not u se miner albased solvents ( such as WD40) to lu bricate or
clean the wheel drive as they will damage the material.
We recommend that you complete the following steps each season to prevent the
buil dup of salt on the wheel drive bearin gs and drive belt:
1. Remove the wheel drive from the wheel:
• remove the wheel from th e pedestal
• remove the spok e clamp screws
• remove the wheel drive front c over
2. Check insid e the drive unit for any signs of damage.
3. T horoughly flush the wheel drive interior with fresh water to remove any salt
buildup on the bearings and drive belt.
Do no t lubricate any part of the wheel drive. It is designed to run
witho ut lubrication.
4. Replace the fron t cover then fit wheel drive back onto the wheel.
5. F it the wheel and wheel drive back onto the pedestal.
6. Clean the wheel dr ive case (using mild detergent if necessary), then flush
thoro ughly with fresh water.
Adjusting the clutch
Y ou need to adjust the clutch if the drive belt slips in Auto mode or drags in
Standb y mode . In normal use , you can tell if th e clutch is slipping if the motor
operates b ut the drive does not turn the wheel.
T o ad just the clutch, first make sure that the auto pilot is in Stan dby mode an d the
clutc h is disengaged. T hen:
1. Use a 3 mm allen key (supplied) to loosen the clutch knob screw about 2 turns
anticlockwise.
2. T urn th e clutch knob eith er 4 clicks clockwise t o tighten the clu tch, or 4 clicks
anticl ockwise to loosen the clutch .
3. Use the allen k ey to retighten the clu tch knob screw .
