TRANSPORTING OBJECTS (continued)
Transporting objects in the rear
load area
Depending on the vehicle, rails 7,
each fitted with two rings 8,prevent
transported objects from moving
around.
The sole purpose of these rings is to
prevent transported objects from
moving. The objects must be
secured to the mounting rings on
the vehicle floor beforehand.
You can slide the rings onto the rail
to position them in the desired
location. To do this, pull out the
button and slide the ring at the same
time. Release it so that the button
fits into one of the openings on the
rail which are specifically designed
to provide a secure mounting.
Always position the
heaviest items directly
on the floor. Use the
lashing points on the
boot floor, if these are fitted to
the vehicle. The luggage should
be loaded in such a way that no
items will be thrown forward
and strike the occupants if the
driver has to brake suddenly.
Fasten the rear seat belts, even if
the seats are not occupied.
Depending on the length of the
objects transported in the rear
compartment, use centre flap 9
beneath rear bench seat 10.
