1. Attach the FAX function upgrade board [A].
2. Turn on the battery switch [B].
NOTE: If installing the FAX unit at the same time, be sure to turn on the FCU
board battery switch.
6. Install the memory [C].
7. Re-install the FCU assembly into the expansion box.
8. Plug in the machine and turn on the main switch.
9. When you switch on the machine for the first time with the new fax option
installed, a message will tell you that a fax function error has occurred and
prompt you to initialize the data. Press “Execute” to initialize the data.
10. Press the “Fax” key and ensure the Fax LED lights.
At this time, the following message appears;
“SC1207 - Adding FAX Feature Expander causes data loss. Turn main power
switch off remove it to avoid loss. To continue press “Yes”.
11. Press “Yes” to initialize the SRAM.
NOTE: Whenever installing the FAX FUNCTION UPGRADE board at the first
time, the machine displays SC1207. Ignore this SC code. This is not a
problem.
12. Enter the service mode, and set bit 7 of system switch 1E to “1”.
13. Print the system parameter list and make sure that “EXFUNC” is listed as an
option.
14. Confirm that the memory indicator shows “100%” in standby mode.
15. Connect the telephone cable.
