Detectable Printing Defects
The following defects can be monitored:
Dots / White Spots
An image quality problem in the form of either white spots on solid areas, or spots of black or
another color on the background.
DFP717
Streaks
An elongated smudge or a white area within an image.
DFP755
Erroneous detection refers to a false positive, wherein a non-existent print defect is reported on the
Image Quality Monitor console.
Basic Flow of Image Quality Monitor Operation
The basic operation of the Image Quality Monitor is as follows:
To monitor defects, paper characteristic data is required. For details about paper characteristic
