Fusing Temperature Range
1247 [Fusing Temperature Range]
Function
Specifies the fusing temperature range that permits paper feeding. Setting a large range enables
quick job start, but with the risk of poor fusing.
When to use
Waiting time is too long, for example, when the job is printed on thin paper or is a mixed media
job.
Fusing Belt Smoothing
1249 [Fusing Belt Smoothing]
Function
Specifies the fusing belt smoothing roller operation interval.
When to use
Setting a shorter interval between each belt smoothing operation is effective for residual gloss
images (as shown to right), which occurs as a result of continuous printing of high image coverage
pages (due to the margins at the trailing and leading edges).
This is also effective in preventing or ameliorating wrinkling at the edges.
Print Mode When Switching Paper Type
1250 [Print Mode When Switching Paper Type]
Function
Specifies the waiting time before the feed tray switches for mixed media job. Selecting [Productivity
Priority] will shorten the waiting time, but may cause poor fusing.
When to use
If the waiting time is too long when executing, by printing on paper on the Media Library
database, a print job with mixed paper type or size, the waiting time may be reduced by adjusting
the range in which paper feeding is allowed in [Print Mode When Switching Paper Type] and
1247 [Fusing Temperature Range].
Gloss Control
1251 [Gloss Control]
Function
Set to on to use gloss control.
