NCXandNXHunitsareshippedwithafulloperatingcharge
of refrigerant. Refer to table I.
Ifisneverthelessnecessarytoaddmorerefrigerant,run
theunitforsometimeincoolingmodeandthenslowly
addliquidrefrigerantintothesuctionsideuntilthereare
no bubbles in the sight glass.
NCX and NXH units use a R-410A refrigerant charge. For
yourinformation,wearereproducingheresomeextracts
fromtheofcialpublicationdealingwiththedesign,in-
stallation, operations and maintenance people involved
intheseactivities,agreedbytheairconditioningandre-
frigerationindustry.
Refrigeration guidelines
Refrigeration installation must be inspected and main-
tainedregularlyandrigorouslybyspecialist.Theiractivi-
ties must be overseen and checked by properly trained
people.
Tominimisedischargetotheatmosphere,refrigerantand
lubricating oil must be transferred using which reduce
leaksandlossestoaminimum.
Ifanyoildrainingorrecoveryoperationbecomesneces-
sary,theuidtransfermustbemadeusingmobilecon-
tainers.
• Leaksmustberepairedimmediately
• Servicevalvesttedtheowandreturnlinespermitcharge
transfertoasuitablyarrangedexternalcontainer.
• Itisindispensabletouseadedicatedtransferstation.
• Compressor lubricating oil contains refrigerant. Any oil
drainerfromasystemduringmaintenancemusttherefore
behandledandstoredaccordingly.
• Refrigerantunderpressuremustneverbedischargedtothe
atmosphere.
Recharging liquid refrigerant
R-410Arefrigerantoperatesat50%-70%higherpressures
than R 22.
Besurethatservicingequipmentandreplacementcom-
ponentsaredesignedtooperatewithR-410A.
ThecylindersthatcontainR-410Aarepink.
ThecylindersthatcontainR-410Areprovidedwithadip
tube that allows uid to escape from the cylinder both
whenuprightpositionandwhenturnedupsidedown.
Unit R-410A should be charged with liquid refrigerant.
Applya common ow regulatoravailableonthe market
tothehosepipetovaporizetheliquidrefrigerantbefore
is enters the unit.
R-410A, like other HFCs is only compatible with the oils
selectedbythemanufacturerofcompressors(POE).
