4.1 PREPARATION TO FIRST COMMISSIONING
The equipment rst commissioning must be carried out by
the Technical Support Service.
Priortocommissioning,itisnecessarytocheckthat:
• allthesafetyconditionshavebeenmet
• therequireddistanceshavebeenrespected
• inordertopreventtheformationoficeduringdefrosting
operations,orthecontinuousmodulationofthecompres

chapter"Systemwatercontentandowrate"
• thewatersystem'sshut-offdevicesareopen
• thewatercircuithasbeendeaerated
• themeshlterhasbeeninstalledandwasproperlyclea

afterthesystemwaslled
• theelectricalconnectionshavebeenproperlycompleted
• theelectricalpowersupply'svaluesarecorrect
• theearthinghasbeencarriedoutcorrectly
• alltheconnectionshavebeenproperlytightened
• checkthatthemachinehasbeenchargedwithrefrigerant.
Checkonthedataplatethatthe"conveyeduid"isthe
onerecommendedfortheoperation-andnotnitrogen.
• Check for the presence of all documents sup
-
plied
by the manufacturer (dimensional dra-
wings,
P&I diagram, declarations, etc.) as requi-
red
by law. If part of the documentation is missing,
request
it.
• Checkforthepresenceofenvironmentsafetydevicesand
protectiondevicessuppliedbythemanufactureasrequi
-
redbylaw.
• Checkforthepresenceofalldeclarationsofconformityfor
pressurisedcontainers,identication
platesandtherequi-
red
documentationincompliance
withlocalregulations.
• Checktheinstructionsanddirectivestoavoidtheintentio-
nal removal of refrigerant gases.
•
Checkweldingandotherconnectionsquality.
• Checktheprotectionagainstmechanicaldamages.
• Checktheheatprotection.
• Checktheprotectionofthemovingparts.
• Checkthevalvestatus.
• Checkthequalityofthethermalinsulation.
• Checktheinsulationstatusofthe400Vcables.
If the compressors are equipped with supports, check
whethertheyareprovidedwithfasteningmechanisms.If
so, the fastening mechanisms must be removed before
startingthesystem.Thefasteningmechanismsareiden
-
tied
withredcollarsandmarkedwithalabelxedtothe
compressor sub-unit.
AlwayswearsuitablePersonalProtectiveEquipment.
Thedevicemustalwaysbepoweredelectricallyinorderto
allowforthecompressor'soiltobeproperlypre-heated.
Thedevicemustreceiveelectricalpowerforatleasteight
hoursbeforebeingstartedupforthersttime.
Set thesystem's mainswitch to its "ON" position, and the
device'smaindisconnectingswitchto
"ON".
4.2 FIRST COMMISSIONING
Beforestartingtheunitalwaysmakesureyouhavereadand
fullyunderstoodtheoperatinginstructionsoftheunitsand
makesurethefollowingmeasureshavebeentaken:
• checktheheattransferuidcirculationpumps,theairtre
-
atment
equipmentandanyotherequipmentconnectedto
theexchangers;
• makesuretherearenorefrigerantleaks;
• checkthetighteningoftheretainingclipsofalltubes;
• checkthesupplyatthemainconnectionpointandphase
order;
• open the suction shut-off valves of each circuit for the cor
-
responding
machines;
• checktheoperationofthecompressoroilcasingheating
elements6hoursbeforestartingthesystem;
• duringstart-upandtesting,checkthatthesystemhasa
thermalloadandwaterowingthroughtheexchangers;
• checkthatallsetpointadjustmentsandcontroltestsare
carriedoutbeforestartingtheunit.
Nowitispossibletoproceedwiththeunitcommissioning.
Checkthatallsafetydevicesare
inoperation,inparticularthatthehighpressureswitchesare
enabledandthatanyalarmisremoved.
Forunitswithoutfactoryinstalledhydronicmodule,the
installerisresponsibleofthethermalprotectionandthe
connectionsofthesystempumps.
Commissioning and start-up must be supervised by a
qualiedtechnician.
Ifthemanufacturer'srecommendations(systemelectrical
andhydraulicconnections)arenotcompliedwith,service
callsunderwarrantywillnotbeaccepted.
4.3 CHECKS TO BE PERFORMED AFTER FIRST
COMMISSIONING
After start-up:
• checkthateachcompressorisrotatinginthecorrectdi-
rection,
checkingthatthedischargetemperatureincreases
rapidly,theHPincreasesandtheLPdecreases.Ifitisrota-
ting
inthewrongdirection,thepowersupplyisnotwired
correctly(invertedphases).Toensurethecorrectrotation
direction,invertthetwopowersupplyphases.
• Checkthecompressordischargetemperaturewithacon
-
tact sensor.
•
Checktheinputcurrent,thatmustbenormal.
• Checkallsafetydevicestomakesuretheyworkcorrectly.
• Check that the compressor's noise level is not abnormal
(knockingsound).
• Checkthatthedeviceisoperatingundertherecommen
-
dedoperatingconditions.
