Why is there no sound coming from my Roland Synthesizer?

  Several factors could cause a lack of sound or low volume. First, ensure your amplifier or mixer is powered on. Then, check the volume levels on both the V-Synth and any connected equipment. If sound is present in the headphones, examine the connection cables for damage or potential malfunctions in the amp or mixer. Also, verify that the Local Switch is turned ON, the Patch level isn't too low, the Effect settings are properly configured, the output destination settings are correct, no external MIDI devices are sending volume-reducing messages, the oscillator is on, and the V-Synth isn't in USB Storage mode.

Why does Roland Synthesizer “Found unknown device” appears even though you installed the driver?

  If the “Found unknown device” dialog box appears even though you've installed the driver for your Roland Synthesizer, and your computer or USB hub has multiple USB connectors, it could be because you connected the V-Synth to a USB connector to which it hasn't been connected before. Reinstall the driver, referring to the Readme file on the included CD-ROM. If the issue persists with the same USB connector, the computer may have detected the V-Synth incorrectly. Delete the incorrect device information and reinstall the driver.

  If you encounter an “Unknown driver found” dialog box and can't install the driver for your Roland Synthesizer, it's possible that the computer has detected the V-Synth incorrectly. Delete the incorrect device information and then reinstall the driver.

Why do effects not apply on my Roland Synthesizer?

  If effects aren't applying to your Roland Synthesizer, several things could be the cause: 1. The [MFX], [CHO], or [REV] effect switches may be turned off, so turn them on. 2. The send level of each effect may be set to 0, so check the settings. 3. Even with send levels to each effect set at 0, effects are not applied if the MFX Master Level, the Chorus Master Level, or the Reverb Master Level is set to 0, so check each setting. 4. If Output Assign is set to other than “MULTI,” the MFX sound will not be output.

  If effects aren't applying to your Roland Electronic Keyboard, first ensure that the [MFX], [CHO], and [REV] effect switches are turned on. Also, verify that the send level of each effect is not set to 0. Even with send levels set, effects won't apply if the MFX Master Level, Chorus Master Level, or Reverb Master Level is set to 0. Finally, if Output Assign is set to something other than 'MULTI,' the MFX sound won't be output. Check the setting.

  If the volume level of an instrument connected to the INPUT Jacks of your Roland Electronic Keyboard is too low, the issue might be the connection cable. Be sure to use a connection cable that does not contain a resistor.
