9.2.6 Checking the burner
The scope of inspection includes:
Ɣ Opening the combustion chamber.
Î If there is damage around the combustion chamger, the
burner must be removed (see chapter 7.4).
Ɣ Clean the burner surface (cloth, plastic brush).
Ɣ Conduct a visual inspection of the ignition and ionisation
electrodes for damage and correct electrode gap
(see chapter 7.3.7 "Setting ignition and Ionisation
electrodes").
Ɣ If necessary, replace faulty parts.
Ɣ Replace the combustion chamber inserts if they were
removed for cleaning of the combustion chamber.
Ɣ Close the combustion chamber.
Ɣ Check the gas line for leakage.
Ɣ Put the burner into operation and let it run for about 5 minutes
in Emission Measurement operating mode.
Ɣ Check combustion values:
– Flue gas temperature at measuring sockets of the flue gas
pipe. (Target value < 90 °C),
–O
2
- or CO
2
-content (see chapter 7.3.1 "Settings"),
– CO content (target value < 50 ppm).
Î If the combustion values do not fall within the target range,
the burner must be adjusted accordingly (see chapter 7.3)
For exact information regarding the checking and set-
ting of the burner, see chapter 7.3.
For exact information regarding the assembly and dis-
assembly of the burner, see chapter 7.4.
In the course of maintenance work, the safety relevant
components must be additionally inspected for the
expiration of their nominal service life:
– Automatic firing CM124-R1: 10 years or 250.000
burner starts,
– Safety gas control block 10 years or 250.000 burner
starts,
– Overpressure safety valve: 10 years.
We recommend, to enter all measured values and the
conducted work with the date and signature into the
enclosed operating handbook.
