4. Lift the cover of the red distress button and push the Distress button for 3
seconds.
Receiving distress calls
When the radio receives a distress call, the 2-
tone alarm sounds. Types of distress calls are
DISTRESS, DISTRESS ACK, DISTRESS RELAY
and DISTR. RELAY ACK.
1. To switch off the 2-tone alarm press the
soft key SILENCE. A press on any other key
also switches off the 2-tone alarm.
2. Press the soft key VIEW to display further information. If engaged in other
communications press ACTIVE to engage in the received DSC call.
NATURE: Select the nature of distress:
FIRE, EXPLOSION
FLOODING
COLLISION
GROUNDING
LISTING (in danger of capsizing)
SINKING
DISABLED (and adrift)
UNDESIGNATED
ABANDONING (ship)
PIRACY (armed robbery attack)
MAN OVERBOARD
EPIRB
LAT:
LON:
POS UTC:
Enter the position and UTC information or unknown of
the vessel in distress.
