3.4 PROGRAM STATION NAMES

This program is used to assign a name or identification to each extension. You may as-
sign a name up to 11 characters long.
PROGRAM KEYS
UP & DOWN Select station and move cursor
KEYPAD Used to enter characters.
HOLD Press to clear entry.
Open customer programming and follow the instructions below.

Dial station number (e.g., 205)
OR press UP or DOWN to select the station and press
[205] STN NAME
the right soft key to move the cursor
3. Enter the station name using the procedure described
below and press the right soft key to return

Procedure for Entering Names
Names are written using the number keys. Each press of a key selects a character, as
shown on the selected key. Pressing a different key moves the cursor to the right. For ex-
ample, you want to enter the name “SAM SMITH." The first letter “S” is selected by press-
ing the dial key number 7 four times (i.e. the first key press selects “P”, the second selects
“Q”, and so on). Now press the number 2. This moves the cursor and selects the letter “A.”
Continue selecting characters from the keypad to complete your message.
Tip: When the next character you want appears on the same key as the character you
have just entered (e.g. you typed “P” and now want to type “R”), press the UP key to move
the cursor to the right, then select the next character.
