Replacing the Timing Belt for the Optional
Ribbon Saver
Required tool:
• Phillips screwdriver
1 Make sure that the printer is in power off
mode, then disconnect the power cord
from the AC outlet.
2 Open the rear housing covers from the printer.
Refer to Section 5.1.1 Opening the Rear Housing Cover for details.
3 Remove the gearbox from the printer.
Perform step 3 of Section 5.9.1 Replacing the Timing Belt of Gearbox.
4 Remove three screws and then remove the ribbon saver motor assembly
(including brackets, spring and ribbon saver motor).
5 Remove and replace the defective timing belt (Ribbon saver (160)) .
6 Perform the assembly with the reverse procedure.
After replacement
• Adjust the tension of the timing belt.
