5.16 Replacing the Torque Limiter for Ribbon
Spindle
Required tools:
• Phillips screwdriver
• Thin shaft
1 Make sure that the printer is in power off mode, then disconnect the power cord from
the AC outlet.
2 Remove the front housing cover.
Refer to Section 5.1.2 Removing the Front Housing Cover.
3 Insert a thin shaft (A) into a hole (B)
through the ribbon rewind spindle  to
the opposite side as shown on the
picture.
Insert a screwdriver into screw  to rotate the
spindle to align it with the hole (B) so that the thin
shaft (A) may pass through it.
4 Then hold the thin shaft (A) and the
ribbon rewind spindle  while
removing the screw .
Remove the thin shaft (A) from the spindle after
the screw
 is removed.
5 Remove the front boss , torque limiter  (OTCLC8-600B), pin , rear boss 
and torque limiter
 (OTCLC8-800B) from the spindle. Leave the pin  in place.
