Countermeasure on Firmware Download Failure
When the firmware cannot be started due to the firmware download failure and following power off, the
LED3 on the main (CONT) PCB flashes after the printer is powered on again. In this case, download the
firmware using the following procedures.
Preparation:
Save the firmware to an SD card.
1 Make sure that the printer is in power off mode, then insert the SD card into the SD
card slot.
2 Set the DIP switch DSW1-7 and DSW1-8 on the main (CONT) PCB to ON position.
3 Power on the printer.
4 Wait until LED2 on the main (CONT) PCB flashes slowly. Then set the DIP switch
DSW1-7 and DSW1-8 back to off position.
5 Downloading starts when the DSW1-7 and DSW1-8 are set to the off position. LED2
lights on.
6 The download is completed when the LED2 flashes quickly. Power off and then power
on the printer again.
Supplementary explanation
LED2 lights off and LED3 lights on during downloading indicates a download error. In this case, make
sure that the SD card and firmware have no problem, and perform the procedures from step 1 again.
