5.12 Replacing the Head Open Sensor
Required tool:
• Phillips screwdriver
1 Make sure that the printer is in power off
mode, then disconnect the power cord
from the AC outlet.
2 Open the rear housing covers from the printer.
Refer to Section 5.1.1 Opening the Rear Housing Cover for details.
3 Remove the gearbox from the printer.
Perform step 3 of Section 5.9.1 Replacing the Timing Belt of Gearbox.
4 Remove the screw , disconnect the
sensor cable  and replace the
defective head open sensor .
5 Perform the assembly with the reverse
procedure.
Arrange and tie the cable to the cable clamp.
Make sure that the cable is not pinched.
After replacement
• Check the head open error message.
Refer to Section 4.6 Checking the Head Open Error.
