ASSEMBLY AND INSTALLATION
The monitoring devices are connected via a RS485 bus line. If a Remote Indicator II is
used, the connection only consists of a two-point connection. When the oil mist detector
is delivered, the bus system is terminated with a switchable resistor as standard, which
is always set to the “ON” position at the factory. This is positioned in the measuring
head as shown in the figure below:

Use a communication cable with a twisted and shielded 3-wire cable. SCHALLER
AUTOMATION recommends LAPPKABEL UNITRONIC-FD CP (TP) plus UL-CSA.
Maximum cable length of 400 m.
