c . B ad c onnection between l ower c ontroller board a nd br ake - c heck 2-pin br ake c able to e nsure t hat it i s
pr operly c onnected to t he c ontroller board’s J P4 c onnector. I f s till no r esistance, power s upply boa rd i s
defective and should be replaced.
7. Full resistance at all levels
a . I ncorrect watt m ultiplier setting - C heck t his s etting in “ Set-Up M ode” f unction (SEE “ Watt Scalar”
c ategory). If t he s etting is not 1, reset i t t o 1 a nd t est t he m achine by e ntering a w orkout pr ogram. I f
still no resistance, proceed to b.
b . Test f or de fective controller board by di sconnecting the br ake c ables connected to J P1 a nd J P4 on
t he P C boa rd. C rank t he m achine while t he c ables are di sconnected, and not e t he r esistance level. If
machine has a normal level of resistance, the controller board should be replaced.
8. High starting resistance
a . I f a n AC a daptor i s a vailable, connect the m achine to AC pow er. C rank t he m achine and
not e t he r esistance. If t he s tarting resistance is now a t a nor mal l evel, the ba ttery may be ve ry l ow or
de fective. Leave the AC a daptor connected for a t l east 2 hour s, t hen w ith t he a daptor di sconnected,
t est t he s tarting resistance. I f t he s tarting resistance is s till high, c heck the ba ttery voltage by
pl acing the c onsole i n t est m ode. I f t he ba ttery reads l ower t han 1 1.5 vol ts, i t s hould be r eplaced.
Else, proceed to b.
b . Test f or de fective controller board by di sconnecting the br ake c ables connected to J P1 a nd J P4 on
t he P C boa rd. C rank t he m achine while t he c ables are di sconnected, and not e t he r esistance level.
If the machine has a normal level of resistance, the controller board should be replaced.
9. Display shuts off immediately when user stop exercising
a . T he c ons ol e r m w a r e m a y be i n S hi ppi ng M ode . B e gi n a w or kout pr ogr a m f or a s hor t
period of time, then stop the program. This will disengage the “Shipping Mode”. Else, proceed to b.
b. C rank t he m achine to s tart i t, a nd c heck the ba ttery voltage by pl acing the c onsole i n
Test M ode” s creen, w hile s till cranking. Once i n “ Test M ode”, c rank t he m achine slower w hile not ing
t he ba ttery voltage. If t he ba ttery reads l ower t han 1 1.5 vol ts, i t s hould b e r eplaced. Else, t he c ontroller
board should be replaced.
10. Fit-Key port does not work
a. Check that the USB drive has the proper “Fitkey.bin” le by plugging it
into a computer and looking at the contents of the USB drive’s root
directory. This will also ensure that the drive works properly. If the drive
works, and the le is present, the console should be replaced.
