GRAPHING FUNCTIONS
13. CALC Functions
• This function allows you to automatically calculate the position specified by the menu
and move the cursor to that point.
• Press Ï ˘ to enter the CALC menu.
WhenÏ ˘ are pressed, the screen shown to the
right will appear.
• The CALC function has seven options, 1 to 7, which
are described below.
• However, when Polar, Param, or Seq is selected, only
Value appears as shown on the right.
[1 Value] ....... Calculates the Y-axis value corresponding
to the X-axis value and moves the cursor
pointer to that point on the graph.
[2 Intsct]........ Calculates the intersection of two graphs
and moves the cursor pointer to that point.
[3 Minimum].. Calculates the minimum of the given
function graph and moves the cursor
pointer to that position.
[4 Maximum]. Calculates the maximum of the given
function graph and moves the cursor pointer to that position.
[5 X_Incpt] .... Calculates the position where the function graph intersects the X-axis
and moves the cursor pointer to that point.
[6 Y_Incpt] .... Calculates the position where the function graph intersects the Y-axis
and moves the cursor pointer to that point.
[7 Inflec]........ Calculates the inflection point of the function graph and moves the cursor
pointer to that point.
* Option 7 will not appear on the first screen. Press ≥ to scroll the screen.
<Example>
To select any of the above menu items, 1 to 7, press Ï ˘, and a desired
number, 1 to 7. In the following examples, assume that “Y1=X

–5” and “Y2=X+4”
have been registered and EXPRES is ON.
