6.4.1.4 “Shape comparison” (“Shape”) switching mode
6.4.1.4.1 Description
The “Shape comparison” switching mode is only accessible if the “Advanced” user level
is activated.
During the shape comparison, the shape of a measured object is compared to a
reference shape that was previously taught in. The sensor automatically determines a
match level for these two shapes (see figure 16, page 36). If the set switching point
is undershot (High Active) or exceeded (Low Active), the sensor emits a switching signal
corresponding to the match level.
The shape comparison is suitable for a rough check or sorting of objects with the same
length, which are moved past the sensor at a constant speed.
