When you change the setting, the course of the signal is trapezoidal (see figure
below). For optimum setting of the detector optics, the setting must be in the
middle of the trapezoid (pointD). If the detector optics is not optimally set, e.g.
between points B and A, problems and faults may occur during operation, e.g.
greater susceptibility to mechanical changes.
