Note
Resetting the IE switch X
-400 to the factory settings is described in the section "SELECT/
SET button".
DIP switch (SCALANCE X414-3E only)
The four DIP switches on the CPU module are set to ON when supplied.
Note
Prior to commissioning check the switch settings.

RM
is set to ON: The SCALANCE X414-3E is redundancy manager.
●
STBY
no function.
●
R1, R2
are set to ON: You can only configure ring redundancy with software (CLI, WBM).
"Automatic Redundancy Detection" is set as the mode.
Note
With the SCALANCE X408
-
2 basic device no DIP switches exist. The settings for RM, SB
and R1
, R2 (ring ports) can be made using software. The RM can be enabled/disabled
using the SELECT/SET button.
The default settings for RM and ring ports are the same for the basic devices
SCALANCE
X414-3E and SCALANCE X408-2.
Other device properties
R1 and R2 enable ring redundancy when the product ships.
Note
in this mode, RSTP/STP cannot be enabled.
