Warming and premature aging of the IE switch due to direct sunlight
Direct sunlight can heat up the device and can lead to premature aging of the IE switch and its
cabling.
Provide suitable shade to protect the IE switch against direct sunlight.
Note
During installation and operation, keep to the installation guidelines and safety notices
described in this document and in the system manuals "Industrial Ethernet / PROFINET Industrial
Ethernet" and "Industrial Ethernet / PROFINET passive network components".
You will nd information on the system manuals in the section "Introduction", under "Further
documentation".
5.2 Types of installation
The devices can be installed in the following ways:
• 19" rack mounting
• Four-point mounting using special mounting brackets
Note
Installation of 100 to 240V AC / 110 to 250V DC devices
The operation of 100 to 240 V AC / 110 to 250 V DC devices connected to the power supply via
one or two DC terminal blocks is only permitted inside a control cabinet.
Installation clearances
Adhere to the following minimum clearances so that the convection ventilation of the
devices is not blocked:
• At least 1 height unit (43.6 mm) below
• At least 1 height unit (43.6 mm) above
