3.3.4  Connecting expansion cards 
This section applies to devices with expansion cards.  
The expansion card interface is protected by a cover. There are two holes in the cover for 
wiring. 
 
Fire hazard due to overheating of the device 
Expansion cards generate additional heat. The device can overheat or cause a fire. 
•  Observe the safety and installation instructions for the expansion cards. 
•  Observe the max. permissible power consumption values for the device. 
•  When in doubt, install the device in an enclosure that meets the requirements of 
paragraph 9.3.2 of the IEC/UL/EN/DIN-EN 61010-2-201 standard. 
Requirements 
•  The device is switched off. 
Procedure  
The procedure is described based on the example of a USB expansion card. 
 
Open the cover by pushing the indicated 
latching hooks in the direction of the ar-
row. Open the cover in the direction of 
the arrow and lift it off. You can now ac-
cess the expansion card interfaces.
 
 
Connect the cable to one of the indicated 
slots.
 
 
Attach the cover at the points shown and 
close it. Make sure that the latching 
hooks snap into place so that the co
