Coolant inlet temperature
NOTICE
Corrosion in the machine
Condensation can lead to corrosion in the machine.
• Choose inlet temperatures that prevent condensation from forming on the surface of the
motor. Condensation does not occur if the intake temperature T
VORL
is higher than the
ambient temperature - or corresponds to the ambient temperature.
The rated motor data refer to operation at a coolant inlet temperature of 35°C. If the
intake temperature is dierent, then the continuous motor current changes as shown in the
following diagram.
Note
For a cooler intake temperature of < 35 °C, the possible continuous motor current is greater I
0
.
I
0
is the current (rms value) of the stator at torque M
0
and speed n=1r/min.
Larger cable cross-sections may be required. This means that you must take into account the
rated current of the cables.
The following diagram shows the principle dependency of the relevant continuous motor
current on the intake temperature of the cooling water in the main cooler. The rotor losses
are omitted as negligible.
