2.2.6 SIMOTION CompactFlash card
Function
The SIMOTION Kernel (SIMOTION D410-2 firmware) and the software used to control the
drives (SINAMICS firmware) are contained on the CompactFlash card.
The CompactFlash card (CF card) is used to
● Backup technology packages and user data
● Update (e.g. SIMOTION firmware update)

The CompactFlash card is inserted into the plug-in module over the blanking cover (see
Overview of operator control and di
splay elements (Page 25)).
Note
The CompactFlash card may only be inserted or removed while the module is in a de-
energized state.
The SIMOTION D410-2 is in a de-energized state when all the LEDs are OFF.
The CompactFlash card of the SIMOTION D410-2 must not be used in a SIMOTION D410,
D4x5 or D4x5-2!
