Figure B-1 Electrostatic voltage that can accumulate on operating personnel
B.3 Basic measures for protection against discharge of static electricity
Ensure su󹪟cient grounding
When working with electrostatic sensitive devices, make sure that the you, your workstation,
and the packaging are properly grounded. This prevents the accumulation of static electricity.
Avoid direct contact
You should only touch ESD components if unavoidable (for example, during maintenance work).
When you touch modules, make sure that you do not touch either the pins on the modules or the
printed conductors. If you follow these instructions, electrostatic discharge cannot reach or
damage sensitive components.
If you have to take measurements on a module, make sure that you 󹪝rst discharge any static that
may have accumulated in your body. To do this, touch a grounded metal object. Only use
grounded measuring instruments.
