3.1 SITRANS LR250 overview
Danger to personnel, system and environment can result from improper use of the device.
• SITRANS LR250 is to be used only in the manner outlined in this manual, otherwise
protection provided by the device may be impaired.
SITRANS LR250 is a 2-wire 25 GHz pulse radar level transmitter for continuous monitoring of
liquids and slurries in storage vessels including high pressure and high temperature, to a
range of 20 meters (66 feet). It is ideal for small vessels, material such as chemicals, food,
beverages, solvents (including those of corrosive or aggressive nature), and low dielectric
media.
The device consists of an electronic circuit coupled to a permanently attached antenna and
either a threaded or flange type process connection.
This device supports Foundation Fieldbus (FF) communication protocol. Signals are processed
using Process Intelligence which has been field proven in over 1,000,000 applications
worldwide (ultrasonic and radar). This device can be configured as an FF (H1) Link Master.
